Cn reconsideration 1 do not think it worth while at present to try to get any ansurance from the India Office is to the coinage of dollars in the future. *Their mints are now extremely busy and after all bullior

can be held in your reserve instead of dollars and it

is always acceptable to Chinese, I think.

As to Government notes, I don't see my way

to a scheme for helping you in this way over the present difficulties. You will see that we are asking the Governor what suggestions he can put forward.
